SUNDAY BEST

I felt very fortunate this weekend when I found this lovely black dress at Savers. First of all it is adorable, second of all it fit, and third of all it was a little treasure come to find out. When I returned home with some of my other thrift shop finds I googled Kate Spade, who designed this dress, and found that it sells for quite a bit more than the $13.00 I paid for it.

I think I am like any other normal human being, and can't help but get that really wonderful feeling inside when this sort of thing happens. Thrift shopping to me is like treasure hunting. I found gold.

Also the fact that I found it Friday and have already found two occasions to wear it to should show how pretty dang happy I am.

Hope you had a lovely Sunday pretties & go enjoy the Savers Labor Day sale tomorrow.

RAINY DAY AT THE ZOO

These girls are my family. For the past year and half I don't think I have gone more than two weeks without seeing their beautiful faces. We have grown so close and I am so sad that with this summer ending, also my little nannying job will too. Together we laughed, cried, fought, and ate lots of tuna fish sandwiches. Our last day at the Zoo was perfect.

We loved the rain, and we all got to see our favorite animals. Sam ran to the giraffes, I ran to the primates, Michael loved the bird show, and Alison just loved everything.

We made sure to stop and take a picture of any golden animal statue we passed.

This is really just a sad post for me. I think I surprised Michael, and myself when I began to cry when we got in the car. Luckily they didn't move across the country, and I can go and visit whenever, but still... I will miss seeing them everyday.

I love you Ali Cat, and Sam Bam Sparkle Pants.

CALLING ALL MERMEN

This post is dedicated to this cool cat I began to fancy two years ago this month. One painting class, 6 month's in Taiwan + one year later = the best roommate ever.
(Really I just wanted to post this gem I found on my computer)
Happy Wednesday Friends.
Also a happy birthday to my mother, who will probably never read this-- but I love you. Cheers to always being mistaken for my sister.

WEEK OF FIRSTS

A few things I learned about myself hiking timp--

I always knew I had a little fear of heights, but when we finally reached the top... I may or may not suffered from an anxiety attack and cried for like 5 minutes before I could pull myself together and enjoy the view. Of course when we got to the top we still had one hour til sunrise and Michael wanted to sleep on a ledge five feet from death-- I had no choice, he was my only source of warmth. As much as I wish this was my favorite part of the hike, I was relieved when we finally started trekking back down.

After I somewhat handled my fear of heights, actually being able to see where we hiked for 8 miles was not so bad. In fact, timp had many breath taking views that gave me goosebumps. The wild flowers were my favorite, and there were fields of them.

At the end, lets just say I never wanted to do this again... my feet hurt like the dickens and my body is still recovering. I learned I really don't like long hikes. Was it worth it? This is still debatable, but hey my name is on that little shack at the top and this was me and Michael's first time ever hiking Timp (and my first time pulling an all nighter). I am happy we got to do it together, plus he is my favorite company, who else would I hike it with. We toughed it out with some of our great friends we convinced to come... I now feel like the worst friend (maybe in a few weeks they will forgive us).

Timp all I have to say is that you were a beast.
