TAKE ME TO A TROPICAL ISLAND

Pictures obviously speak louder than words, and Kauai was by far the most beautiful place to capture our belated honeymoon. Every picture was beautiful, it was honestly hard to narrow it down to these-- and there are a lot. We were very fortunate and had many miracles happen to us on this trip, from car rental drama the first day, to losing my license on the last day and many in between. Talk about STRESSFUL. On the verge of tears, and my anxiety raging through the roof because I thought I was going to be stuck in Hawaii forever-- Obviously didn't think that one through. Luckily we found it wedged between some papers in Michael's bag.

We spent much of our time on the beach and snorkeling. Michael had a hard time making friends with the fish, he was put in his place when the state fish decided to bite him. Poor Michael, he had some hard feelings whenever we came across one while snorkeling.

Hiking was surreal on the Napali coast trail. Half way into our hike, we started hiking the wrong way up a river bed. For about thirty minutes we climbed without seeing anyone, and were both mumbling how hard the hike was, and bantering on about how impossible it would have been for those younger children we passed earlier to hike this. Finally we realized we were just going the wrong way, and climbed our way back down to the right trail that took us up to a waterfall. We stopped at a secret beach on our way and made some new friends-- feline friends that is. There were roosters and cats everywhere!

One day, we drove up to Waimea Canyon-- which they call the Little Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It is almost scary how similar it is to the Grand Canyon, just a little greener.

The paddle board. It was a first us both, and we both agreed that someday we will have our own. We paddled up the Wailua River, and Michael only fell in like a million times-- making for much laughter and a wonderful time.

We snorkeled some more, and saw Sea Turtles. SEA TURTLES. I was in heaven. We also got to see a few famous places where they filmed part of Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park (which is one of my favorite movies, and it only felt right that I read the book while I was there).

Kauai was most beautiful, and exceeded our honeymoon expectations by far. We hope to go back one day. There was so much we wish we could have done, but not enough time. So Aloha for now.
